Ordinary things, un-ordinary interaction

Find an example in ordinary everyday interaction of people and things that CONFUSES.

When sensor activated taps were 1st being introduced , many people had no idea on how to use it, especially the elderly. So i think its CONFUSING

Find an example in ordinary everyday interaction of people and things that DELIGHTS.

Electronic devices can be really hard to understand, and i am one of those people who never liked to read the thick manuals and rather figure it out on my own.  Something like the microwave oven is quite straight forward so i think its a DELIGHT.

Write a short commentary about your observation.

I think electronic devices can sometimes be confusing. e.g the design of a product can look really great yet difficult to operate / use, that product is still not user-friendly.

But personally i think, its still getting used to it, maybe its difficult to operate only for the starting phase of usage and as you use it more , you get used to it and find it easy.

Face-Lift

Heres my rough sketch design of how my 100-storey lift interface would be.

The picture pretty much explains how it works, but to add in a few pointers.

This lift might not be user-friendly for disabled people but i think .. all products has its ” good ” and ” bad ” i think this design would be great mainly because of its high-tech touch screen interface. ( and we dont see 100 storey buildings everywhere , so someting like that would be of good use to it)

ALSO , each time a button is pressed from the MAIN MENU there would be a sound playing perheps  a ” Bling” sound and when a storey is selected , a higher pitched ” bling” would play , that is to confirm users that they have pressed a button(since this is touch screen , u cant feel if you have pressed anything sound would be a great help)
